Both level 1 and level 2 are entirely online and can be taken at any time after purchase. Once your order is processed, you will receive access via email for the number of assessments purchased. Each assessment can then be distributed to the appropriate personnel for completion online.

Hydraulic Aptitude Assessment Level 2 — Advanced Assessment

The IFPS Hydraulic Aptitude Assessment™ – Level 2 goes beyond foundational aptitude to evaluate a candidate’s deeper mechanical reasoning and fluid power knowledge.

Designed for individuals with technical experience or training, Level 2 assesses the ability to understand and apply hydraulic principles—not simply recognize basic concepts. It explores areas such as component function and application, pressure and flow relationships, system sizing, loads and forces, electrical fundamentals, troubleshooting concepts, and advanced mechanical reasoning.

Level 2 helps employers answer a more important question than “Does this person have mechanical aptitude?”

“Does this person have the technical foundation to become a highly capable fluid power technician?”
